Riad Kantarell lies in the royal kasbah in the southern part of the medina in Marrakech. Kasbah, built by the Almohad Sultan Yaqub Al-Mansour, is the site of El Mansouria (Kasbahmoskén).

Entrance to the kasbah called Bab Agnaou, that is one of the nineteen gates of Marrakech. The gate was built in the 12th century in connection with the Almohad dynasty ll.
